State of the Blog Anno 2024: Let’s crunch the numbers

Having published the first post here on 2018-05-04, and taking stock now, about six years later, having written 24 blog posts… I am clearly an active blogger writing at the frenzied rate of an average four posts per year.

A grand total of zero human comments on the blog.

A grand total of zero humans ever telling me they’ve read my blog.

A grand total of zero attempts at spreading word about the blog.

A grand total of one friend asking for the address of my blog when I mentioned I had one.

A paltry 1285 current spam comments. Since WordPress only allows ‘bulk delete’ of 20 comments at once, I had to install a plugin to delete it all conveniently. Silly.

However, I’ve on multiple occasions had reason to reference stuff I’ve written on the blog – not in any formal capacity, but in terms of conversation with others. So the act of pondering stuff for writing the blog posts, as well as the capability of re-reading them and taking stock of earlier frames of mind… Have actually been personally useful/convenient.

In other words, onwards and upwards!
